Merry Christmas!

Since I didn't get Christmas cards out this year, I just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas!
I could never get a pic of my kids that I liked (too picky) to put on the cards. Maybe I'll get something done for Valentines Day...better start now, huh? Plus with the ice storm and the power outage it put me even more behind! I am finally getting to the end of my shopping, I can see the light ("It was a beautiful light, I think I saw my grandma!"...what movie was that from?) & I am more in the Christmas mood!
Anyway, I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and a great 2008!

Two of the Luckiest Girls

Jordan and I went to the Hannah Montana concert Sunday night. I think I was just as excited as she was!
I have been watching ticket sales since August...hoping to find some for under $100...each, hoping to win some or get a personal email from HM saying how she would like for us to come and so she would be sending us a couple.
That didn't happen. So I'm watching Hairspray Sunday afternoon and decided to see if anyone had sold their tickets back to ticketmaster. And sure enough it said they had two tickets. I hit the process order button but then it came back saying unable to process. I tried again and then it showed no tickets available. I kept trying over and over and it would either say "none available" or it would say it was holding them for 2 min., waiting for me to enter my credit card and then say "unable to process". Then finally my request for two tickets, any price, any where was filled. Two tickets, 2nd row from the stage, for the original ticket face value price! Not thousand of dollars like I had previously seen on ebay and ticket scalpers' web sites. $55.00!! Is that not crazy?? I got tickets in the 2nd row, hours before the show to a concert that had been sold out seconds after tickets went on sale back in Aug!
We have got to be some of the luckiest girls!

The Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch today with Stacy, McKenna & Brice. The kids had tons of fun picking out pumpkins, riding ponies, going through the dark scary maze & feeding the farm animals.

This is one of many pumpkins Jordan picked out, put back...over and over again.
I wonder where she gets it from?? Ha.

Jacob picked out his pumpkin right when we got there and never changed his mind.
Not even when I mentioned a bigger one! That is his dad, get it and get out of there...on to other things.

The whole gang.

These two were actually just sitting here, together, at the same time.
We didn't even have to make a bribe for this picture!

Jacob's 5 year pics

Well I took Jacob out yesterday to try and take some pictures. Yes, it's about time, his birthday was in July!
I first took him to the train tracks. He was so worried about a train coming that I don't think he really ever relaxed. And as you can see in the photos, we would know if a train was coming. Then we headed over to the playground. That's just too distracting for a five year old. But I think I got one good shot. Now if I just knew how to edit these! Let me know which one you like. I don't even know where to start and these are just a few.

Jordan's 11th Birthday

We celebrated Jordan's 11th birthday this month.
I cannot believe she is 11. She is excited about being a tween. And plays the role perfectly.
It seems like we have been celebrating all month long. We had family come two weekends in a row to celebrate and then she had her birthday party with her girlfriends the following weekend. The girls had fun. They played karaoke, painted their nails and did their hair. Then they posed for pictures and made frames to take them home in. Poor Jacob begged me not to let all of those girls come over to our house. He invited Austin over so that he wouldn't be the only boy. Luckily for him Brice came and they pretty much stayed out of the girls way.
Here are a few pics from her party and a couple from long, long ago....

Who are you kidding??

Jacob's soccer team played their 1st game today in the 5 & 6 year old division. I think they lost by 1 or 2 goals (because we still don't keep score...whatever). Jacob finally made our 1st goal towards the end of the game and then they made one more after that. This division is going to be quite a challenge for them. But after winning almost every game last season in the 3 & 4 division, they need the challenge.

I am all about being challenged to grow and improve. But I want to see the super giants who produced this 5 or 6 year old. Let's take a vote, who thinks this kid is 5 or 6??? Maybe he was 6 last spring when they 1st had fall sign-ups and the parents thought "Technically he's 6 as we sign him up now." Then he turned 7 the next day.
Shame on you parents!
With all that being said, the poor kid was not that good. He was big and fast but it took him the whole width of the field to turn the ball around. So ok, maybe if we go by talent rather than age? I don't know.

Preschool today, High School tomorrow.

Here are a couple of more pics from Jacob's very 1st day of school. They should have been included in the last post but I somehow deleted them and could not get them back. So if anyone knows how to get a pic back after you've hit the backspace one too many times, let me know please!

Going into the class room. He is ready to go. The door opens and he is gone, no hug, no "Goodbye mom", or "Please don't leave mom." I don't even think he looked back :( He saw Austin (yep, they are in the same class), and went right over to his hook to hang up his backpack.
He loves going to school. I love him going to school. I've asked myself, "Should I feel guilty that I enjoy the 2 1/2 hrs to myself? Even more, should I feel guilty that I hope that they go to all day kindergarten next year?"
I took a few pics of him on his 1st day. He posed for this one saying "Pretend I'm running to school." It really looks like he is, doesn't it? ha.

First Day Of School

Here are some pics of the kids' first day of school, finally!

Here is one of my girl on her first day of school 5 years ago. She started kindergarten in Abq. and then we moved to Owasso the middle of the school year.
I can't believe this is her last year in elementary school!

Jordan and Alex. They have been friends since we moved here.

Here is my big boy on his 1st day of school.

This past summer Chick-Fil-A sponsored a Princess for the Day & had Miss Owasso there to pose pictures with all of the little princesses. I took Jordan and McKenna up there and they got their nails & hair done with little tiaras. I thought Jordan might be a little old for this but I knew she would love to meet the person who has holds her future title....ha.

One more thing....

Ok, so if you read my facts about myself you saw the story about my honeymoon. Well, that still makes me mad when I think about it that I forgot to tell the rest of the story...ha. Not really mad, I'm mostly over it. I don't bring it up in arguments...anymore.
Anyway, I had a cold during our honeymoon and the ship we were on was smaller than those big Carnival ships and you could feel it rocking sometimes. Well I had a little motion sickness from that on top of the head cold. The ship had mid-night buffets and Todd wanted to go but I was too tired and not feeling well so he went on w/o me. Sometime in the middle of the night he came in and woke me up saying "Please come up there to the buffet. I'm stuck at the table with two old ladies talking." But I never did go up there. So I guess we both have some "memorable" moments about our honeymoon that we can hold over eachother's heads.

Tagged!

Well, I have been tagged by my friend Kina to tell 7 little unknown facts about myself. I enjoyed reading everyone else's and always relieved when someone else was tagged. I am like Kina, I feel like most of you pretty much know me because of the topics that ALWAYS come up when we are together. I don't know if I can come up with 7, but I'll try.

1. I am not a huge reality tv fan. I only pretended to be so I could hang out at Kina's house with my friends to watch The Bachelor. However, the ones I do like to watch I probably shouldn't admit to! I loved Rockstar INXS & Rockstar Supernova (I secretly wish I was a famous singer...there's a bonus for ya:). Those were my favorites! I love to watch Dirty Jobs (if you haven't seen it, it's not what you are thinking...it's on the Discovery Channel & I think I've seen all of them) & Rock of Love: Bret Michaels. I also like to watch Dr. 90210, Miami Ink, Animal Rescue & The Girls Next Door (I don't know why I am fascinated with them...I think the man is sick! I just like to see what the girls are up to.:) So, after all that...now that I think about it...maybe I am a reality tv junkie! Great.

2. Some of my other favorite shows are Grey's Anatomy, The Young & the Restless, CSI Miami, Hannah Montana & I like to watch the news every morning (channel 6). I still watch Friends, Seinfeld & King of Queens. Some of my favorite movies are Grease, Urban Cowboy, Pretty Woman, Sweet Home Alabama, Failure to Launch...yes, chick flicks!

3. Ok I'll tell a honeymoon story, but I can't top Kina's (love ya!). We were leaving for our cruise to the Bahama the very next day after our wedding. So that night a bunch of Todd's friends and his brother all came over to our apartment & kept Todd outside all night talking and just reminiscing I guess, I was soooo mad! And I am still waiting for some of them to get married so I can pay them back!

4. Todd and I met at a "country dancing establishment" called Tumbleweeds in Stillwater. I liked to line dance (yikes, that sounds worse than I thought).

5. I like to read the Beverly Lewis series about the Amish families. And like Jessica H., I like Reader's Digest.

6. I am currently trying to choose between going to cosmetology school or getting a nursing degree when Jacob is in school all day next year (if Owasso does all day kindergarten).

7. I have lived in Biloxi, MS; Wichita, KS; & Alburquerque, NM but I was born and raised in Guthrie, OK.

Ok, there you all are. I am now tagging Laura, Melissa & Linds! You too Traci if you can on your flickr! Or just start a blog!

Celebrity Look-alikes

These are Jordan's celebrity look-alike's (according to them). She'll be happy about Elizabeth Swan! She has been at church camp all week! This is her first year to go & she hasn't called home since Monday. I am missing my girl! However, Jacob told Kina today that it was nice when his sister goes away for a while, because they don't fight. Amen little brother!

Lizzie

We have a new addition to our family. This is Lizzie. She is a 12 week old Bichon. She is so sweet and has not been much trouble at all. She has been very calm and laid back, but I am thinking once she is used to us she will behave more like a puppy. Yes, you are probably thinking that we wasted no time after losing our little dog Prissy. I didn't think I would want another dog for a long time, if at all, but we all felt that there was a huge void w/o her. We missed the chaos. She has been a great diversion for us all. The kids absolutely love her. She doesn't play or chew much at all but she loves to run with the kids in the yard.

Jacob's 5th Birthday

Happy Birthday Jacob! I can't believe you are already 5.

Well I am finally getting around to posting some pics of Jacob's birthday. It was a week long celebration, which he loved. On his actual birth-day we took him to Chuck E Cheese, his choice. Then later that week we went to Frontier City in OKC and stayed in Guthrie with our families where he opened more gifts. The next weekend we had his birthday party with family and friends. I think he had a very awesome, great birthday.

I told him to give me a "I'm so happy it's my birthday and I am at CC's" smile. I'm not sure what this is...
They are riding a roller coaster simulator.

I think Todd played more games or just as many as the kids did.

Here is Jacob and his Grammie.

He was very happy to get a Power Rangers game.

How many does it take to put a race track together?

I wanted them to wait for everyone to get there, divide up the KIDS and have a water balloon fight. I have evidence of who started the fight right here. I thought this was for the kids!

Austin arrived right as the fun began and Jacob slammed him right in the face with a water balloon. Poor Austin. I'm sure he was thinking, "I thought we were buddies!"

4th of July

Every year we watch Owasso's fireworks display from the Albertson's parking lot. It was on the 3rd which is Jacob's birthday. He kept asking all day, "when are we going to go watch MY fireworks?"
We went to a Jason and Katie's for a cookout 4th of July and then out to the country to set off the fireworks. We had a great time.

Jacob and Austin watching the show in Owasso

Jacob is in there, somewhere.

Cooper, Brenden & Ella watching fireworks. Or was it Annie's sparkler dance?? Ha.
