Summertime

The kids and I went to big G last weekend for my sister's baby shower. We stayed with my parents and the kids had some fun splashing around in the hot tub.

They were cra-zy! It was really hard to get them just to smile w/o being so goofy!

We had the Osborn kids over for a couple of days while Mandi was at camp. They loved playing outside. We could only go out for a few minutes at a time...it was sooo hot! Kinda like now!

Here is what happens when a little girl has mostly boy toys to play with. I had gotten Jordan's doll house down from the attic for Alora to play with. I guess she thought the family needed some type of transportation!

Happy Birthday Jacob!!

Jacob's birthday was July 3rd. Yes, almost a 4th of July baby! I think this is the 1st year he didn't think that all the firework celebrations were for him ...ha. That makes me laugh.

Here is my little guy and his big sister. He was about 1 month here. She has always been momma #2. Despite his protests. We had to keep an eye on her, she would just pick him up whenever, plop him up on her shoulder... Jacob is all into Star Wars this year. He has about 4 or 5 different SW games for the X-box, they are his favorite. And he can pretty much tell you all about the movies. I've never seen all of them, but I don't need to, he gives me the scoop.
We had his party at a park with a splash pad.

Some of us stayed in the shade while the kids played in the water. Jacob just loves little Addison and requested that she come to his party. He always talks about wishing she was his little sister.

Xander enjoyed some cake. Yummy!

Jacob received so many cool gifts.

Darth Vader pinata. This one was cool because the kids just pull the string and there is one certain string that will open the candy. No flying bats!!

Brice liked to hang out behind the water fountain, rather than being sprayed. Can you blame him, you should have seen his face! He was loving it.

On Jacob's actual birth-day he opened a few gifts from us. Here he is showing his aiming skills with his new laser gun.

And the new scooter. No more sharing Jordan's, he has his own cool red fire one.

Here are a few pics from t-ball this season. Yes, Jacob and Austin are on the same team (was there any doubt?). Don't you just love their uniforms?? They look so cute, um-I mean handsome! This is their 2nd year to play and I could see a great deal of improvement from last year. It is so much fun to watch them play .

Best Buddies.What a swing! If you look close, he has his tongue sticking out. This is his signature now, you know he's concentrating if his tongue is out.

He does pretty well at 1st base. I'm sure he could tell you how many outs he has made. He is a numbers guy :)

Jordan's Spring Recital

My Girl

Just as I promised (a couple of months ago) ! Here are some of Jordan's pics from her modeling shoot. She did so well and had so much fun! It was hard to pick our favorites.
I am going to brag a little because we are so very proud of her.
She finished her 5th grade year on the A-B honor roll, made above 95% in English both semesters and will be taking honors Social Studies next year. It has been a rough year with her peers this year (has anyone seen the movie "Mean Girls"?) so I am very proud of her being able to stay focused and do so well in school.

Silver Dollar City Fun

I 'm still here! It has just been super busy. This time of year always is for us. Many family birthdays, which means many trips to Guthrie.
We did manage to go somewhere else besides Guthrie earlier this month. We took the kids to Silver Dollar City. Todd had the whole week off and our original plan was to leave after school on Wed. But Jordan decided to catch some weird bug Saturday after we had gone to Trail Days. She was very sick for 5 days and wasn't completely over it until 7 days later. She would not eat, she was losing weight (and we all know there's not much there to spare) and we could not get her out of bed except for her trips to the restroom every 30 minutes. A trip to the dr, and an antibiotic seemed to turn things around. We think it must have been a bacterial infection she may have caught from the lovely concession stand at the mid-high during Trail Days. Needless to say, I don't think she'll be wanting pizza for a while! Jake and I were safe, we had the hotdogs :)
Once we saw that she was going to be ok, we left a day later than planned.
We came back Sunday in time for Jordan to sing in the evening service at church. She did great and I am so proud of her. I will be trying to post a clip of that soon.

Here they are getting ready to ride the swings. This was Jacob's 1st time. I especially enjoyed this trip because it was the 1st time Jordan could ride these spinning rides with him and not me or their dad. We were very glad for that!

Todd and Jordan rode this winding thing 10 or 15 times! NO THANKS! Jacob rode his 1st big coaster (not this one) on this trip. He LOVES them. It just cracks me up because Jordan just started riding them last year....
He was so upset because he wasn't tall enough for this one. I have to admit though, I was relieved.

My 5 year old did ride the Powder Keg! If you have ever seen this ride you would be impressed. Here is the park's description to give you an idea:

He debated riding it the whole time we were there. For 2 days he watched Todd and Jordan ride it. Even his dad was reluctant to let him ride, worrying it would be a little too big for him. But he told us he was big enough (because of the sign) and that he wanted to be brave. So he rode it the last day we were there on the last run for the day! So brave!
